As a blogger you’ve probably heard that having proper Search Engine Optimization or SEO on your site it critical to your success.
You know it’s something that you need to focus on but perhaps you have no clue where to begin or if you’re already doing it, you want to make sure you are doing it right.
Well first let me say that Search Engine Optimizations is one of the best and most organic ways to get traffic to your blog.
There are many bloggers who have a large number of visitors all thanks to SEO.
You can easily boost your presence online easily if you do SEO the right way, but there are also many challenges you might meet on the way.
But don’t give up.
While there have been many algorithm updates that have changed how the pages are ranked, many successful bloggers have still found a way to get to the top and stay there.
Here are some tips that will go a long way in helping you with your SEO campaign.
Tip Number 1 – Title Your Posts Correctly
Before creating a title, you should think about what you would type into a search bar when you are looking for information on a particular topic.
Think of how other people might phrase the same search term and try to create a title from that.
You don’t have to do this for every post, but you should do it for the majority, and especially for the ones where you are trying to rank and want people to find you when they search for a specific term.
Tip Number 2 – Quality Content and a Good Internal Linking Strategy is Key
The content you post should be of high quality and engages the reader.
Google will easily know if your content is relevant or not, and will then decide where to rank you in the search engines.
When writing, remember you are writing for your readers, and not Google.
Always keeping your reader in mind will help you deliver quality content.
Linking your articles is also important.
You can link an old article to a new one and vice versa.
Many of your older articles have already been indexed by Google and may have some quality backlinks associated with them.
This means the page has increased in value as other sites are linking to it.
So when you link to the new articles in the old ones, it will give the new article a little boost.
And when Google re-indexes your content, it will quickly find the new content when it follows the links within your older posts.
Tip Number 3 – Stop Stuffing Keywords
If there is one thing that will always annoy search engines, it is keyword stuffing.
Keyword stuffing is when you overload a post with keywords and linking and bolding them.
This will make it hard for readers to read and the page might be flagged by the search engines as spam.
Stuffing could completely wipe out any chance of a page ever ranking, and those that are already ranked may never see the first page of Google.
Tip Number 4 – Review Content That Is Not Ranking
What happens when the content you post doesn’t rank?
Many people will just leave it alone and move on to the next post.
This is the wrong way to deal with this situation.
You should go back and tweak the post or try to rank it for another keyword.
But you must check your content on a monthly basis to know what is ranking, and what is not and fix the problem..
Tip Number 5 – Leverage Tools
This is my absolute favorite.
